More than a century of accuracy in sound
On October 9, 1918, Danish engineers Axel Petersen (1887-1971) and Arnold Poulsen (1889-1952) established the Electrical Phono Film Company. Their goal was to explore the potential of high-quality recording and to develop one of the world’s first synchronized sound film systems.
Today, Ortofon stands as a micro-mechanical powerhouse, renowned for developing, manufacturing, and marketing the acclaimed Ortofon phono cartridges.
Based in Denmark, a country known for its strong tradition in acoustics and acoustic measurement equipment, Ortofon benefits from its location, which contributes to its expertise in high-end audio.
